Description

Blouberg beach, also known as Bloubergstrand and Blaauwberg Beach, is the place to take picture-postcard shots of Cape Town and Table Mountain. Bloubergstrand (meaning “blue mountain beach” in Afrikaans) is just what the name suggests – a long, beautiful beach with a mountain view.

This image was taken, as you would've guessed, just before a cold front hit Cape Town.

The image consists out of 3 images with HDR post processing. The 3 images have only been processed as HDR and not altered such as background replacements or any other alterations what so ever.

For vision, I give this piece 5 stars. It is very beautiful, and seems like otherworldly lights are encountering an earthly storm. It really is amazing, and you can almost feel the temperature dropping, the tension and wind picking up, and the need to go home before all heck breaks loose.

For originality, this photo is intuitive and definitely makes the cut. It was not a set up, nothing was planned.I recognize this as something all true photography has achieved.

The technique for this work is also stunning. They have gone out in a storm to capture this beautiful moment, where aperture doesn't matter because the exposure is perfect and the moment is just right. The perspective is astonishing, right in between the two fronts as they collide. A masterpiece.

Impact. I think you have already seen parts of my opinion on it. To be honest, I feel like I could reach through the computer, and be there. The wind is picking up and the cold is coming. A light show plays out in the sky, and a storm is sweeping over the cape. To say it feels real is false, though. It looks so resplendently surreal, so pleasant, so amazingly beautiful in a way I could never imagine. Its a fantasy that fear of a coming storm could have never taken from me. It is truly amazing, and I will never let this moment go.
